Cover Crush: Good Morning, Midnight by Lily Brooks-Dalton

For new visitors do I want to explain that Cover Crush is something that my friend Erin over at Flashlight Commentary came up with and I adopted the idea together with some other friends. And, now we try to put up a Cover Crush every week. You can check below my pick of the week for their choices this week!

A debut novel set at the edges of civilization: a lonely scientist in the Arctic, and an astronaut returning from a long journey, each haunted by questions of love, memory, and regret, in the face of an uncertain future.

On the return from a long voyage through outer space, Sully and her crewmates find that communications from Mission Control on earth have suddenly gone dark. At the same time, Augie, an aging scientist at a remote research outpost in the Arctic, decides to stay put even when an evacuation order is issued. As Sully and Augie each face uncertain futures, they begin making sense of their own lives: the people they have loved, the sacrifices they have made, the memories that haunt them. With crystalline prose and piercing emotional insight, Lily Brooks-Dalton captures the heartbreaking regrets and profound bravery of Sully and Augie—two outsiders whose stories gradually twine together in surprising ways. Good Morning, Midnight is a stunning meditation on the power of love at the end of the world.

Some thoughts about the cover:

I love covers that portray the sky, especially starry skies. Good Morning, Midnight cover seems so reflective and peaceful and I love the little tent. A tiny piece of life among all the vastness.
