Meyrick was born in Glasgow and brought up in Campbeltown on the Mull of Kintyre, where the books are set. After studying politics, he spent time as a police officer, freelance journalist, distillery manager and director of a number of companies in the engineering and leisure sectors. He lives with his wife Fiona near Loch Lomond in Scotland. His stepdaughter Rachel Kennedy is also a published author, writing Young Adult novels.
THE RAT STONE SERENADE is the fourth book in the series, published in early April in the UK by Polygon, and already a Scottish Crime bestseller.
